Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. - Jer. 10:2

When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. - Deut. 18:9

Walk NOT in the counsel of the ungodly –they will always lead you wrong, and they will always lead you away from God. Ungodly people are ALWAYS opposed to God and his ways. We are to seek our counsel and our direction from God, so it is a disgrace when people who claim to love and serve God will even listen to ungodly people, let alone seek out their “wisdom.”

Who are the ungodly? Who are these people that we should not allow to influence our life? They are the “people of the land.” They are people whose lives are not godly. They are people who do not put God and his Word first in their life. They decide what is right and wrong out of their own mind and lusts, and reject and despise God’s demands and prohibitions. They are like the politicians who make their decisions based on polls. If everyone is doing it then it cannot be condemned. The ungodly always reject God’s way and God’s order and follow after their own lusts instead. They may say things we like to hear to make us think they are on our side, but when they are not godly you can be assured that they do NOT agree with God.

The knowledge that the ungodly has is corrupted because they do not get it from God. Instead they get it from other ungodly people or from their own corrupted imagination. Their understanding is warped and perverted because their knowledge is corrupted. This explains how they can believe the foolishness and nonsense of evolution. They have excluded God from all their thoughts and refuse to draw from Him any knowledge. Therefore, they have become depraved – crazy, and do not know what they are talking about! SO A CHRISTIAN SHOULD NOT LISTEN TO THEM! Everything they say will be contrary to God, his Word, and his ways!

The ungodly WANT to counsel you. They WANT to tell you how to rear your children. They WANT to tell you what is right and what is wrong. They WANT to tell you what to eat and how to take care of your body. They WANT to tell you what is important and what is not important.

Not only do they WANT to counsel you, but the ungodly WILL counsel you unless you separate yourself from their influence. You cannot slide your feet under the devil’s table and not be influenced by his meat. You cannot listen to the voice of the serpent without being charmed into believing his lies. You must turn away and NOT listen to the world and its philosophies.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, - 2 Cor. 6:17

The TV, books, news, radio talkers, and wise men of the world are some of those you must turn your ears and eyes away from if you are going to be obedient to God and not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Ophrah, all the “conservative” talk radio people, and all the phony TV money-grubbing preachers have no counsel for a child of God. These people are ungodly and God tells us NOT to walk in their counsel. They are NOT like a tree planted by the rivers of water. They are like the chaff that the wind driveth away. They are in it for the money and they will be gone in a short time. You better seek counsel from the eternal Word of God instead of the likes of these people.

So you know that it is wrong for a child of God to walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Then why do you keep doing it? Why do you keep watching that TV and listening to those ungodly people? Why do you pattern your life after the world’s standards instead of God’s standards? When you sit in front of the devil’s pulpit you are opening your mind and your children’s minds to the influence and counsel of the most ungodly people who are walking and living on the earth. You are very foolish if you think that you can look and listen to them and not be influenced by their thinking. They WANT to counsel you – that is what their purpose is all about. They want to change the way you think. It worked for Eve and the devil hasn’t had to change his methods for all these thousands of years because it still works today. If the ungodly can just get you to listen they can persuade you to think like them and do things their way.

The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. - Prov. 12:26

Why would a child of God look to some pony-tailed, pot-smoking, pagan in a research lab of some college to tell him how to eat and take care of his body? What does he possibly know about what is good or bad for the body? They tell you what to eat and what NOT to eat and people believe everything they say without question. On top of that they change their opinions from year to year. They prove their own selves wrong over and over. It is a disgraceful thing for a child of God to walk in their counsel because that information is given in the Bible and we have very clear instructions and warnings about this matter:

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. - 1 Tim. 4:1-5

God made it ALL and it is ALL good IF it is received with thanksgiving. It is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. Now THAT is God’s counsel in this matter. Do you believe God? Every kooky diet and eating fad that comes along the people at church jump on the wagon with all the ungodly. Every scare that comes out of some college research lab is swallowed down by church people as fast as the ungodly, if not faster. They will do whatever the ungodly say to stay healthy and totally ignore the Word of God. You ought to seek that knowledge and wisdom from God and not listen to the counsel of the ungodly.

Thank God for Christian doctors, but doctors can be ungodly, too. When they are ungodly their counsel is not good. An ungodly doctor will tell you to drink wine, have an abortion, or do other things contrary to God. The fact that he is a doctor doesn’t mean you should walk in his counsel. You would be much wiser to seek God’s wisdom and counsel when you have a heath problem. There are times when we need doctors, but the point is that most Christians have put doctors in the place of God and that is very wrong and wicked. Many are allowing doctors to slowly poison them to death with drugs that they do not need, simply to make the drug companies and the doctors that own them rich.

Why would a child of God look to some kook like Dr. Spock to tell them how to rear their children? The Bible is full of instruction on rearing and disciplining our children and ungodly people will tell you exactly the opposite of what God says to do. Why would a child of God read Dear Abby to see how to handle different situations in life? Even if you read things like that for entertainment your mind will be affected and you will begin to think and reason like them. Why would someone who has the Word of God and the Holy Spirit as their comforter need to go to a doctor or psychiatrist when they are troubled in mind? They can do nothing for you but give you drugs to put you out of your right mind. God can truly comfort your soul and give you peace and rest if you will go to Him.

The church is full of ungodly thinking and it is there because people who sit in the pews walk in the counsel of the ungodly. They have ungodly friends who are continually filling their ears with ungodly reasoning and philosophies. They sit in front of a TV or read books and magazines written by ungodly people and listen to the the counsel of the wise men of the world as they seduce them into believing the devil’s lies. It is common to hear Christian people talk about watching the Discover channel. They sit there in front of that thing while some ungodly person tells their children that the earth is millions of years old and explains how everything was formed, in total contradiction to the Word of God. They think they can sit there and let the ungodly counsel them and their children and it will have no effect, but they are badly mistaken.

God’s will is for us to turn away from the counsel of the wicked. We have all we need in God and his Word. The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. He will give us all the comfort we need. If we lack wisdom we are told to ask God and He will freely give it. In HIM are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He promises that He will supply all our needs. SO what do we need from the ungodly? Nothing! Christ is ALL we need! Look to Him and walk in his counsel and be careful NOT to let the ungodly influence your mind, your reasoning, your family, or your life.

Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: - Psa. 64:2

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God. After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD. - Lev. 18:1-5
